Welcome to Kindergarten! Kindergarten is always a special time, but Hilldale's program creates an environment full of excitement, trust, growth, kindness, and exploration all while teaching our accelerated learners about Reading, Phonics, Writing, Addition, Subtraction, Social Studies, and Science. In Kindergarten, students are put in leveled Reading and Math groups to provide them with the perfect amount of acceleration, challenge, and support. Kindergarteners have "must-do's" and "may-do's" so that every child is able to work at the pace that is right for him or her. No child is left feeling bored, nor are children all forced to work independently at the same pace. Students are taught about "Bucket-Filling," the practice of saying and doing nice things for others, how to focus, how to tie shoe laces, and that each child is a valuable member of the class and school.
