Hilldale's music program stimulates the mind and body! Students learn to love singing! They also learn about the great composers, music history, and how to read music. Rhythm, percussion, and movement are all a part of the experience. Kindergarteners and First Graders focus on singing and percussive instruments. While Second Graders learn the flutophone, Third and Fourth Graders learn how to play the recorder. Fifth Graders add the glockenspiel and use boomwhackers to enhance their developing ensembles! Upper school students learn about composition, learn to play the ukulele, and share new music with their classmates. All students participate in the winter music program and the spring music program.
