First Grade is a time of transition from learning about how school works to engaging in it with confidence. Students will each write a Young Author Project book and create a Science Fair project in First Grade. First Graders discover about the wonders of chapter books in their literature group discussions, and they enjoy Singapore Math with leveled math groups and many math games! In International Studies, the focus is Africa. During writing, First Graders start with sentence frames and group work, and move on from there. First Grade remains a time for play and exploration, but our accelerated students also know how to delve into subject matter when it's time to get serious.
