Summer Reading

During the summer weeks, reading is a time for relaxation, enjoyment, and mental stimulation. We hope Hilldale students will find all three experiences in their required summer reading book. By the time classes resume, all students will literally be on the same page! Some students will begin a class project; others will write an in-class analysis. No book reports are required for summer reading. Each child going into grades Kindergarten through Eighth Grade will need to read one book. All others are optional.  

 

We work hard to find a book that will tie into the Social Studies themes of the year (in most cases) as well as the overarching grade level themes, while still at the child's reading level. It is our hope that we will set up our students for success as they walk into their new classrooms. Reading is fun; reading is essential. Happy Summer Reading!
