Ms. Kitty is in her second year of teaching at Hilldale School and loves the renovated studio. (Come visit!). She graduated magna cum laude from San Francisco State University with a BA in Music as a voice major and piano secondary and flute tertiary. After a variety of successful careers in performing, corporate communications, customer service relations, marketing, publicity, content creation, radio engineering (First Class Radio Telephone Operators License!), video editing, and writing for startups, she started teaching full-time in 2002.
Ms. Kitty's Harmony Road is the name of her private music school with locations in Moss Beach and Half Moon Bay where she teaches early childhood music, ukulele and group and private piano. Other teachers offer drums, voice, guitar, violin and a cappella groups. For 10 very busy years, Ms. Kitty taught TK through 3rd music at Hatch Elementary School, a Spanish immersion school in Half Moon Bay, and is now in her third year of teaching TK through 4th grade at Farallone View in Montara.
This past summer, Ms. Kitty completed a graduate certificate program at Tufts University in Early Childhood Technology. In August she debuted her new camp curriculum Coding and Making with the Gray Whales that is featured on the Kinderlab Robotics website and newsletter.
Almost every summer Ms. Kitty travels to various music teacher training programs (such as Royal Conservatory of Toronto and master teacher Forrest Kinney). Over the years she's been certified in Orff Level 1, James Hill Ukulele Initiative (three levels), Advanced Harmony Road and more. Plus she's a member of many international online music teacher groups for inspiration, training and sharing of best practices.
She lives on the Coast with three dogs, two cats, six birds and her favorite housemate, daughter Maddie who graduated from UC Merced in 2015.
