Hilldale School serves families in the San Francisco, Daly City, and Northern Peninsula areas. We welcome families who reflect the diversity of the Bay Area and who desire a challenging academic environment for bright and gifted children, where students may excel from individualized attention and positive affirmation that only a small school can provide.
Due to the COVID pandemic, Hilldale will start the year offering remote instruction for all students in K - 8th grades. While we all look forward to being together again as soon as possible, health and safety must always come first. Having had a very successful remote learning experience in the Spring of 2020, we feel confident that we can continue to provide an excellent academic and developmentally nurturing experience.
To promote equity, we plan to offer onsite access to our remote learning in supervised, multi-grade cohorts for parents who are essential workers and those for whom in home supervision is not available, as well as for students who need the more structured environment that being in the physical school building can provide. Teaching remotely, all teachers will use a multitude of tools to instruct children, providing whole class, small group, interactive, and fun learning opportunities. We will continue to host all school events, such as the Science Fair, Spelling Bee, Winter Festival, and more using online platforms.
Incoming Kindergarteners have an especially difficult task starting school online as they do not have a framework upon which to lean. We will work tirelessly to ensure that all of our youngest learners experience the joy of learning, how to practice patience and structure, the pleasure of making new friends in addition to all of the rich academic knowledge that is within their grasp.
Those families who are looking for the best remote learning experience, one that curates a deep knowledge of each child and a commitment to academic excellence, please reach out to us! We are committed to our families, and we hope to count you as one of us!
Interested families are encouraged to take a virtual tour with our Admissions Director, Mr. Keith Willson. Please contact him at email@example.com
