Hello,
Stop and smell the flowers! I am posting some pretty flowers in vases done by ES students (homework assignment). Enjoy!
Today's homework assignment was to draw a face in profile (side view).
It was a pleasure to look at all the beautiful portraits you have submitted! While I was admiring your works I had an excellent idea! From now on I will post a homework assignments collage of the most striking sketches! Please take a look at some great works by our Elementary School students.
Most students submitting their assignments in their Homework Sketchbooks. Good job! Presentation plays a big role in your artistic success! As a reminder, I will not be grading sketches executed on a loose sheets. Drawing your assignments in one sketchbook allows me to see your artistic growth throughout the school year. If for any reason you drew a homework assignment on a loose sheet (blank unlined) you can glue it to the page of your sketchbook.
Enjoy the sunshine!
Hello! Welcome to the 2017-2018 art program at Hilldale School!
I hope you had an enjoyable and relaxing summer!
This semester in art, students will be doing all sorts of amazing things. For starters, we will depart on a journey to Prehistoric times. Our first stop is one of the world's most famous caves located in Southern France. Dating to around 17,000 BCE, it contains cave paintings of almost 600 animals, depicted with extraordinary skill and vitality!
Dear Students!
It was a great pleasure to have you all in my art class this semester!
I want to thank each Hilldale artist for all the warmth, the laughter, and the learning that we have shared in a past few months.
Thank you for sharing your artistic ideas, for your hard work, for joining me on this journey called Art!
I am proud of your accomplishments.
Always strive to be the BEST that you can be!
Some of you will not return to Hilldale in August... I will miss you. I wish you a great future! I wish you happiness, success, adventure, laughter, new true friends!
Enjoy your summer everyone!!!
Hello, Artists,
We are now only a few weeks away from the end of the school year!
Please visit your student's page and review homework assignments grades. Too many missing assignments will severely affect your grade. Are you staying on top of your homework?
Dear Students and Parents of Hilldale School!
Thank you very much for all the sweet drawings and wonderful cards filled with words of appreciation... They made my heart melt!

Squares with Concentric Circles, perhaps, Kandinsky's most recognizable work. First graders learned about complimentary colors and created their own versions of famous painting. The results are fantastic!
No art homework assignments for the next week! Hooray!
Enjoy your Spring Break everyone!
Great news!
Hilldale School is back to Artsonia!
It's a great way to keep families up to date on what's going on in our Art Room! Today Maria ( Artyom's and Christina's mom) started uploading images of completed artworks to Artsonia website. Thank you Maria for taking time from your busy schedule to help with this exciting project!!!
Some artworks will remain "hidden" from our school's public gallery until parent gives permission to share the image. I've been informed that Artsonia sent out the requests via email. Please visit website to read full disclosure of Privacy Policy. Once the parent's permission is granted, the artwork is on view for friends and family to admire!
