Although it doesn't snow here in Daly City, our second graders sure know how to use their imaginations (which we encourage!). Students welcomed winter by creating snow globes with each of them inside, throwing snowballs, making snow angels, and wearing warm scarves! We also memorized lines from "The Night Before Christmas," a classic poem by Clement C. Moore, included in Core Knowledge's "What Your Second Grader Needs to Know." This helped students continue to work on their speech skills and represent the holiday of Christmas at our Winter Program. Winter holidays represented by other classes were Diwali and Hanukkah.
