This fall, second graders followed the Scientific Method by participating in Group Science Projects during the school day. All experiments were hands-on, fun, and conducted by students themselves. The Crazy Chewers explored how long the flavor of different brands of gum would last. The Soggy Diapers tested how much liquid different brands of diapers would hold. The High Flyers studied different structures of paper airplanes. And the Sweet Treats uncovered a connection between people's sense of taste and smell. It was very difficult for the judges to pick a winner for second grade. But, congratulations to Anya Chen, Alex Diaz, and Gurleen Samra of the Sweet Treats Group for walking away with the blue ribbons.
