Autumn is here and we've been busy! The photos below show a recent poetry/art project, which involved going on a nature hunt to collect fall leaves and describing the season of fall using all of our senses. Before the algorithm, comes conceptual understanding! In Math, we're beginning to study multiplication and division by grouping, combining, and dividing with beans! Students are seeing the relationship between the two operations and are practicing going back and forth between them flexibly. They are also realizing how much easier it will be when they have their multiplication facts memorized (it's much easier than counting the "beans" each time!)
