In Math we are currently learning about measurement, both metric and standard systems. We took advantage of a sunny day to go outside in partners to trace each other with chalk on the concrete. Then students measured their height and width in feet and inches. We learned that the distance from a person's head to toe is approximately the same length as from his/her fingertip to fingertip. Students enjoyed being outside and hands-on with their rulers.
